BATON ROUGE, La. — Southern University Law Center recognized several accomplished graduates during its Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony as part of the school’s 2026 Alumni & Friends Round-Up, celebrating legal excellence, public service, and community leadership.
The ceremony was held on April 9 at the River Terrace inside the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge.
Among those honored was Michael B. Victorian, who reflected on the significance of the recognition and the impact the law center has had on his life and career.
Victorian said the honor was both humbling and meaningful, allowing him to reflect on the journey that shaped him and the people who helped him along the way. He said the ethos of “seriousness of purpose” instilled in him at Southern University Law Center continues to guide his work both in legal practice and in the community.
The Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony recognized graduates whose work has advanced the legal profession, public service, business, and civic engagement.
Other honorees included Anthony Boyce Canada, Bridget Biagas, Ross Leblanc, Susan East Nelson, and Walter Gabriel.
The annual Alumni & Friends Round-Up, held April 8-11, also included continuing legal education sessions, networking events, class reunions, a golf tournament, and a Judicial Wall of Fame ceremony.
