Two Baton Rouge Winn-Dixie Stores to Be Rebranded as Super 1 Foods
Two Baton Rouge Winn-Dixie stores will soon reopen as Super 1 Foods following a November rebrand by Brookshire Grocery Co., which pledges to keep existing employees and expand affordable grocery options in South Louisiana.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Two familiar Winn-Dixie grocery stores in Baton Rouge are preparing for a major transformation this fall. Brookshire Grocery Co. announced plans to close and rebrand both stores as Super 1 Foods — signaling a fresh chapter for local shoppers and employees alike.
The stores, located at 8601 Siegen Lane and 13002 Coursey Boulevard, will close on Nov. 16 and reopen the following week as part of Brookshire’s growing Super 1 Foods network.
Company officials said the move is part of a larger effort to strengthen Brookshire’s presence in South Louisiana by offering customers lower prices, a wider selection of fresh products, and improved service.
“These new Super 1 Foods locations reflect our ongoing commitment to serving families across South Louisiana with affordable groceries and the friendly service our customers expect,” said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co.
Brookshire emphasized that all current Winn-Dixie employees will have the opportunity to remain on staff. The company also plans to hire additional team members to support expanded offerings and operations under the Super 1 Foods brand.
Brookshire Grocery Co., based in Tyler, Texas, operates more than 200 stores across Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The upcoming Baton Rouge conversions continue the company’s steady growth in Louisiana’s competitive grocery market — one that increasingly rewards affordability and community connection.
For Baton Rouge residents, the rebrand means familiar faces behind the counters, new store layouts, and the same neighborhood convenience — now under a fresh new name.
