UPDATE: Juneteenth Celebration in Baton Rouge Moves Forward With Adjusted Hours, Weather Precautions in Place
The celebration will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at BREC Gus Young Park, following an earlier adjustment made to account for anticipated inclement weather.
BATON ROUGE, La. — Organizers of the annual Celebrate Juneteenth Freedom Day event, led by Louisiana State Representative C. Denise Marcelle says the event will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, June 13, 2026, with no additional changes at this time.
The celebration will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at BREC Gus Young Park, following an earlier adjustment made to account for anticipated inclement weather.
Officials emphasize that all planned activities remain in place, including community food distribution, cultural programming, family-friendly events, and a headline musical performance by Kenny Neal & The Neal Family. The event will also feature a major community giveaway of more than $1,000 in gas gift cards.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to arrive early and stay alert for any real-time updates from participating partners and local agencies as weather conditions continue to be monitored.
