The Free Expungement and Warrant Resolution Clinic is happening right now at the 19th Judicial District Court in downtown Baton Rouge from 12 PM to 5 PM.

Who Qualifies for Warrant Clearance?
- Non-violent offenses, including:
- Felony theft
- Simple burglary
- Misdemeanor offenses
- Failure-to-appear warrants
- Courts participating in the program:
- Baton Rouge City Court
- 19th Judicial District Court
- Family Court
- Municipal courts in Baker and Zachary
- Traffic fines: If you have outstanding fines, you may be able to resolve them today.
- Driver’s license reinstatement: Representatives from the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles are on-site to assist with getting your license back.
Who Does NOT Qualify?
- Anyone with a violent offense on their record, including:
- Homicide
- Armed robbery
- Sexual assault
- Domestic violence cases

“This isn’t about just talking—we are taking real action to change lives,” said District 10 Councilwoman Carolyn Coleman, who played a key role in organizing the event. “I’m using my Dr. King money to make an impact—helping people clear their records so they can work, get an education, and build a better future. We’re not just marching; we’re making a difference.”
A total of five courts will participate, including the 19th Judicial District Court, family court, and municipal courts in Baton Rouge, Baker, and Zachary. Judges such as Don Johnson along with the District Attorney’s Office and the Public Defender’s Office, have collaborated to make the event possible.
This clinic was made possible through a collaborative effort involving:
- The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC)
- The District Attorney’s Office
- Judges from the 19th JDC, including Judge Johnson and Judge Alexander
- The City of Baton Rouge
