State Representative C. Denise Marcelle Mourns the Passing of Senator Larry Selders
Selders was a champion for justice, equity, and opportunity. He believed every person deserved to be heard, respected, and represented.
BATON ROUGE, La. — Louisiana State Representative C. Denise Marcelle, District 61, released the following statement following the sudden passing of Louisiana State Senator Larry Selders:

“Today, Louisiana lost a great leader, a dedicated public servant, and a man whose impact reached far beyond the halls of the Capitol. Today, I lost a dear friend and brother.
Senator Larry Selders was a big man with an even bigger heart. His passion for people, his commitment to service, and his determination to fight for a better Louisiana defined who he was. He did not just hold a public office; he embraced a calling to serve.
Larry was a champion for justice, equity, and opportunity. He believed every person deserved to be heard, respected, and represented. His leadership, compassion, and genuine love for his community touched countless lives.
But beyond the title of senator, Larry was simply Larry — a friend, a brother, and someone whose personality could fill a room. His confidence, his style, and that unmistakable swag made him one of a kind. He brought joy, authenticity, and energy wherever he went.
This one hurts. I will miss my friend and brother more than words can express.
My heart and prayers are with his wife, Kendra, their sons, Larry and Luke, and the entire Selders family. May God surround them with comfort, strength, and peace during this unimaginable time.
Senator Selders leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and commitment to the people of Louisiana. His work mattered. His life mattered. His impact will continue through the many people he inspired and the communities he fought to uplift.
Rest well, my dear friend and brother. You served Louisiana with honor, and you will never be forgotten.”
