State Rep. C. Denise Marcelle Qualifies for Justice of the Peace, District 4, Bringing Decades of Public Service Experience

BATON ROUGE, La. — After decades of dedicated public service, advocacy, and commitment to the people of East Baton Rouge Parish, State Rep. C. Denise Marcelle officially qualified as a candidate for Justice of the Peace, District 4, beginning a new chapter focused on fairness, integrity, and community-centered leadership.
Marcelle brings a proven record of serving families, neighborhoods, and residents whose voices deserve to be heard. She said her campaign, built around “V.O.I.C.E. — The Voice of Justice. The Voice of the Community,” represents her commitment to ensuring every citizen receives respect, dignity, and fair treatment under the law.
With decades of experience in government, legal services, and community advocacy, Marcelle has developed a strong understanding of the challenges facing residents and the importance of accessible and responsive public service.
Marcelle currently serves as Louisiana State Representative for District 61 and previously served as an East Baton Rouge City Councilwoman, where she worked to address community concerns and advocate for residents. Her public service experience also includes work with the Baton Rouge City Constable’s Office and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, giving her firsthand knowledge of the justice system and community needs.
In addition to her government experience, Marcelle is a paralegal and licensed Notary Public, bringing valuable legal knowledge, attention to detail, and experience with legal processes to the Justice of the Peace role.
