Recall Effort Against Mayor-President Sid Edwards Falls Short as Administration Refocuses on Progress and Unity

BATON ROUGE, La. — East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards is moving forward with his administration’s agenda after a recall effort seeking to remove him from office failed to gain the support needed to advance to a public vote.

“This is just the latest attempt to distract from the fact that in my first year in office, we recorded the lowest number of homicides in six years, helped more than 100 homeless individuals off the streets and into rehabilitation, and removed more blight than at any point in our parish’s history,” Edwards said.
