The surge in violence has prompted Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and BRPD Chief T.J. Morse to address the community's concerns and outline steps to ensure public safety.
The series of shootings began on Easter Sunday, with one incident claiming the life of a young girl who was struck by gunfire while asleep in her bed. Stray bullets also pierced through the windows of neighboring homes, causing widespread fear and alarm among residents.
