Senator Regina Barrow Assisting Families with Nonperishable Foods to Help Feed Children

Senator Regina Barrow

“In response to our schools closing due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic, Senator Regina Barrow will be assisting families today with nonperishable foods to help feed the children in our city.  The food will be distributed at the office of Representative Denise Marcelle, located at 1824 N. Acadian Thruway West Scotlandville Middle School, 9147 Elm Grove Garden Dr. and Glen Oaks Middle, 5300 Monarch Ave, on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 12:00pm until the items are gone.

You must have at least one child with you to receive the food. Special thanks to Representative Marcelle and her team for leading these efforts to feed our children while the schools prepare to set up feeding sites on Wednesday.  The students who we will be served from this location attend Capitol Elementary, Melrose Elementary and Capitol Middle Schools. All schools will send out a text or robo call to notify the parents of details for their respective feeding programs.

If you have additional questions or would like to donate to this cause please contact my assistant, Chandra Goodwin at 225-359-9400.  We are continuing to pray for our entire city, state, and nation and ask that you do the same.  Let’s remember we’re in this together and we need to help each other during these trying times!”
