The election will be November 3, 2020 and early voting October 16-27, 2020. Judge Foxworth was elected August 15, 2020. She defeated, longtime City Court Judge, Alexander, who is guaranteed to continue in her current position until December 31, 2024. Alexander will be 68 years old. Judge Foxworth was elected to fill an unexpired term which ends December 31st of this year. She thanks the citizens of this parish for their support and asks for your continued prayers and vote as she seeks re-election to the full six year term that begins January 1, 2021.

Judge Foxworth “hit the ground running” and immediately began presiding over Section VIII which is comprised of criminal matters that ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies such as homicide. She credits her faith and belief in God as a governing factor in rendering justice in accordance with the law.

Judge Foxworth states, “District court is where everyday people have a first look at our justice system,” “first-time offenders have the greatest opportunity to get back on the right track,” and “repeat and violent offenders, or those involving domestic violence and crimes against children, should expect to receive a very firm treatment and penalty.”

Judge Foxworth is a U.S. Army veteran who served 13 years as an enlisted soldier and commissioned officer. She has been a licensed registered nurse for the past 19 years and practiced law 14 years before being elected judge. Judge Foxworth states her experience in State District Court sets her apart from her competitor. She is the only candidate with District level judicial and felony trial experience. I’m addition, Alexander has no significant ties to the community as she lives a significant distance away in the Kenilworth area and cannot even vote for herself.

Judge Foxworth is a graduate of Southern University A&M College School of Nursing and Southern University Law Center. She is married to Internal Medicine physician, Dr. Jonathan Roberts, MD, has an eleven year old daughter and is also a dog mom to their pet Maltese Prince Warbucks.
