Chauna Banks' educational journey began at Southern University Laboratory High School, where she laid the foundation for her academic pursuits. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Southern University and a Master's degree in Education, Leadership, and Counseling from Southern University Graduate School.
Chauna Banks has been a dedicated employee with the East Baton Rouge School District for years, serving the city's youth and investing in their future. She proudly serves her third term as a Metropolitan Councilmember, representing Council District 2. Her hands-on approach and unwavering dedication to residents, business leaders, public and private institutions, community groups, and fellow elected officials have challenged the "status quo" and positively impacted her constituents.
Chauna Banks' vision is crystal clear: to enhance the quality of life for all constituents, regardless of race, class, gender, or socioeconomic status. With a substantial portion of District 63 falling within her council district, she is well-positioned to initiate meaningful change from day one.
