Friends and admirers recalled Louise Patterson, president, and CEO of Bountiful Blessings Ministries and an influential COGIC evangelist leader, as an iconic figure who left an indelible impression on the region through her acts and charity and kindness.
Patterson, 84, died Sunday evening. A family spokeswoman said Patterson died peacefully at home.
Patterson was married to the late Bishop Gilbert Earl (GE) Patterson, the former presiding bishop of the Church of God in Christ, the world's largest Pentecostal denomination. As COGIC's first lady during her husband's tenure as presiding bishop, Louise Patterson had a big platform and used it well, say those who knew her and admired her charitable deeds.
Following her husband's death in 2007 death, Patterson took over as head of Bountiful Blessings Ministries, serving as the general manager of WBBP radio station and president of Podium Records; she also wrote a book, “A Real Pearl.”
