EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH - The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC), joined by the BREC Foundation, will host the annual Let It Sneaux holiday event sponsored by Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute and the Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health and Sciences Academy. The event will be held on Saturday, December 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Perkins Road Community Park, 7122 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
Guests of all ages are invited to come to stuff their stockings on a stroll down Candy Cane Lane, take photos with Santa, enjoy s'mores and hot chocolate, enjoy games and crafts, movies on the big screen, and of course, snow! Two areas will be sectioned off to enjoy the snow for kids ages five and under and six and up. Movie showings include How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1 p.m.), The Polar Express (3 p.m.), and The Nightmare Before Christmas (5 p.m.).
Monetary donations are welcomed at this free event to assist the BREC Foundation Send a Kid to Camp Program. Each year the BREC Foundation offers scholarships to families in need of assistance in giving their children an opportunity to attend a BREC summer camp.
In celebration of BREC winning the prestigious Gold Medal award and being named the top Park System in the Nation, there will also be a chance for the public to take a photo with the Gold Medal Award at the event.
