For more than 43 years, The Weekly Press has been showcasing the community’s leaders, business owners and other important great news and information throughout Baton Rouge. The partnership of UTS TV Baton Rouge with the BR Weekly press will result in daily news, information, and local programming to the Black Community of Baton Rouge.

Urban Trendsetters Television Network (UTSTV) is the nation's newest and first over-the-air (OTA) broadcast network owned and operated by an African American Woman. UTSTV aims to serve the African American community and beyond through providing high quality, family-friendly, entertaining, and inspiring

programming for the general public. In doing so, we hope to become a positive influence in the community and help our viewers to become more informed citizens of the world. UTSTV represents the Black American culture respectfully and authentically.

“We are excited at the potential to create additional content with the use of videos to the stories and content that we cover in the paper and on our website. In addition to television commercials we can offer local Black Creatives the chance to have their show ideas, movies, and music on a national platform” states Ivory D. Payne, CEO and Publisher of The Weekly Press.

By partnering with local community newspapers Urban Trendsetters TV can assist the small black business owners or publishers we work with by providing a new service to increase revenue as well as value to their existing advertisers. The need for Black News, information and content has never been more apparent than it is today. As a team UTS BR and The BR Weekly Press are a great match, said Sharon S. Gordon, CEO and Founder of Urban Trendsetters Television and Media.

Viewers can watch UTS TV BR on any device that has internet access via the Free UTS LIVE STREAM at www.utstv.com and their news and information website www.urbantrendsetters.com. In addition to online UTS TV’s local broadcast channel affiliate KLBN (Pelican Broadcast), 14.4 will air UTS TV BR. UTS TV’s OTT (Over the Top) network launch on August 1, 2020 will include access to ROKU, Amazon Firestick and AppleTV subscribers. The combination of networks will give UTS TV BR access to over 80 million subscribers.
